Whitney & Tom

Tom and Whitney met in 2011 in New York City just months after Whitney moved to the city to pursue a career in the arts. After a year and a half of dating Tom proposed to Whitney in her hometown of Camden, Maine during the Camden International Film Festival at her favorite local breakfast spot, Boynton-McKay. Whitney and Tom knew right away they wanted to hold their wedding in the fall in Camden – their favorite season and favorite place.  A family friend generously offered the couple their sprawling oceanside field for their wedding site and the planning began.  It was important to the couple that the wedding be focused not only on the celebration of their marriage but also on Maine and the many amazing local foods, beverages, and goods available in the state. The wedding ceremony was held at Pascal Hall in Rockport, a former church turned art gallery where art from Maine artists Susan Williams and Jessica Stammen surrounded the couple and their guests. Guests tossed locally grown lavender from Glendarragh Lavender Farm at the couple as the danced down the aisle as husband and wife. The wedding reception featured many native beers and alcohols as well as locally sourced food thoughtfully chosen and prepared by Swan’s Way Catering.
