It was “colpo di fulmine” – love at first site. From the moment they locked eyes at a local pub on King’s Road in London, Lindsay and Mark were smitten indeed and their love soon blossomed. Their second encounter with colpo di fulmine came when searching for the perfect wedding venue. The couple knew they wanted a gorgeous spot by the water and visited several sites along the coast of California but it wasn’t until they came across Lake Como, Italy that they found their ideal spot. The ambience was perfect as we were in love with the deep blues of the water, the intense mountains, the gorgeous villas along the shores and the incredible gardens. It truly is a magical location!
Upon finding their dream destination, Lindsay and Mark began enlisting some of the best vendors in the business to help bring their special day to fruition. Corbin, with her wealth of knowledge of the Italian countryside, was the perfect choice to photograph the day. Ceci New York was the talent behind the elegant wedding invitations and Laura Hooper provided all of the gorgeous calligraphy and welcome bags for guests.
On July 24, 2009, Lindsay and Mark held their intimate ceremony on the terrace of Villa del Balbianello overlooking Lake Como. The 88 guests in attendance then made their way to the glamorous reception held at the Villa’s marquee. A sea of red and pink roses paired with sage green linens and silver chargers and glassware greeted them. It was a magical site that capped off a magical day, indeed.
